How the finder decides

  1. Form filters the pool. Powders give more grams per serving; capsules and tablets are tasteless and portable but usually smaller doses.
  2. Diet filters again. "Vegan" keeps only products whose listings describe them as vegan or plant-based. Check the label yourself, since capsule shells and flavors vary.
  3. Priority ranks. "More EAAs" favors bigger listed doses, "certified" favors products with NSF Certified for Sport or Informed Sport claims, "flavor" favors drink mixes, and "short ingredient list" favors unflavored or plain options.

Questions people ask

How does the finder pick?

Each product in our guides is tagged with its form, whether listings describe it as vegan, and what it is known for (dose, certification, flavor or a short ingredient list). The finder filters by your first two answers and ranks by the third. It runs in your browser and stores nothing.

Are the suggestions tested?

No. We have not tested, tasted or lab-checked these products. Tags come from labels, listings and brand statements linked on each guide page. Formulas change, so check the current label.

Should I take an EAA supplement at all?

If you already eat enough protein from varied foods, you may not need one. EAAs are a convenience. Ask your doctor first if you are pregnant or nursing, have a kidney or liver condition, or take medication.
